Hi! I’m Sam, a photographer, videographer + visual designer based in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, California.

Although my interests are varied, I specialize in automotive (especially lowriders and other classic cars and motorcycles), portrait, event, and culture photography.

My work is strongly informed by my training in fine arts, including drawing, painting, and sculpting, but with an inclination towards the documentarian—which means that I tend to keep my images grittier and more organic, especially if it reflects the truth of what happened.

So you're more likely to find me out on the streets, even for private and paid shoots, rather than in the studio. That doesn't mean I don't like working in a studio, but I shine when showing the artistry that is always already around us.

I revel in the challenge of finding crisp, vibrant compositions within the hustle + bustle of our urban environment, and thereby to show the interconnectedness of our lived experience with that environment.

I picked up a camera because it was my choice of weapon against what I hated most about the universe: racism, intolerance, poverty.
